The New England Network (NEN) is an informal but powerful network of individual groups, residents and supporters of the New England region of NSW, Australia. The individuals share a common interest and passion for creating a better quality of life by restoring both freight and passenger rail services to link them to Toowoomba, Brisbane, Tamworth, Newcastle and Sydney.

Groups included in the NEN continue to retain their own organisation, membership and elected offiers. Individuals may be members of more than one organisation with the NEN.
This network of activists has been re-energised in 2026 by the determination of Armidale Regional Council and Glen Innes Severn Council to demolish a large part of the former Great Northern Railway (GNR) line, in order to build a fanciful, expensive walking+cycling trail that has minimal support from local residents and rate payers. Its opponents are incredulous that these 2 Councils have not sort wide community feedback on the project, nor have communicated about the high economic burden that their Councils will have to taken on annually for an indefinite period of time.
