The NSW Rail Trails Framework is a comprehensive set of guidelines established by the NSW Government to standardise the development of rail trails across the state. Released in June 2022, it acts as a roadmap for converting disused railway corridors into recreational paths for walking, cycling, and horse riding.
The following Armidale Regional Councillors are known to be members of Friends of New England Rail Trails (NERT):
