I propose we do not include this section in the NETP at this stage. I find it competes with our major proposal to re-activate the GNR
There needs to be a discussion with the Strategy Team about this Section.

The Station Way Trail Proposal
Uralla to Wallangara is linked through the New England from Uralla to Wallangara by a rail corridor loaded with history, powerful scenery, great stories and a strong future. The foresight of colonial planners was amazing and the skills of the engineers and hard toiling workforce delivered top infrastructure that really worked.
Today the corridor stands unused by trains however has a chain of twelve main stations ready for you to explore.
In the future when the trains return you will be able to catch a train to one of the stations but now you will have to gain access from the New England Highway.
This Active Transport Strategy is designed for you to walk, run or ride a mapped out suggested route of about 10 kms that features each station location with empathies on history, the environment, items of interest and the future.
Most locations have commercial venues nearby for food, drink and souvenirs.
We recommend you take a mobile phone with you for safety and to take photos to show your family and friends.
Each Station has station trail to guide your Active Transport experience.
Choose your Station, get the guide and have fun!
Starting from the South the stations are: –
- Uralla
- Armidale
- Dumaresq
- Llangothlin
- Black Mountain
- Guyra
- Ben Lomond
- Glen Innes
- Deepwater
- Bolivia
- Tenterfield
- Wallangarra
- Stanthorp
In the New England the New England Transport Plan Network is developing the The Station Way as a means of supporting Active Transport incorporating trains, cycling, walking and running!
The promotional material will be a series of tourism brochures that explain an overview and an individual leaflet for each of the stations. The information will include how to get to the station and what can be found at each site plus information about food accommodation and points of interest.
