The New England is currently severely restricted by not having public transport that matches the community’s requirements.
This New England Transport Plan explains the current situation and outlines some solutions for meeting the needs of residents of the New England region of NSW. It discusses ways of addressing the region’s core transport needs by re-activatinge the the Great Northern Railway (GNR) line, as a backbone for dramatic improvements in public transport offerings.

It concludes with a series of Recommendations, followed by a plan of actions required to reinstate the rail services on the GNR line.
